Tasik kenyir covering an area
of 38000 hectares, is the larges man made lake in Malaysia created
by the Sultan Mohammed Hydroelectric Dam project. Blessed with
abundance of flora and fauna of a virgin forest and vast water
body, the lake is a gem of attraction set to be the major tourism
destination particularly in nature and eco-tourism.
The
international Village Park Resorts proposed in the area allocated
to PTB is a culmination of viable economic objectives and sosial
contributions meant to coexist in a harmonic existence. International
in concept, when realised it would draw on international contribution
and cooperation of varius countries. A showcase of multifarious
architecture, craft and culture, the villages would portray the
inception of human settlement in its idyllic form, its regard
to enviroment and his willingness to peacefully coexist with nature

Information
The site
allocated for the development of international Village Park Resort
covers a land area of approximately 745 hectares ( 2000 acres
) west of Pengkalan Gawiin Tasik Kenyir, Terengganu.The predominantly
forested area strategically enclave a lagoon with several islands
in its midst the biggest being Pulau Selimbar and Pulau Sungai
Tekak. The lake being part of a submerged dorest area is still
covered eith a large number of large tree trunks emerging on surface
of the lake. Based on th edam profile, water level in the lake
while able to rise is being regulated and any danger of sudden
flooding of the river bank can be safely ruled out.
Accessibility
Situated
5 km to the west of Pengkalan Gawi and the proposed Pengkalan
Utama ( Main supply base ) the site is currently accessible only
by the lake and land access is limited to the loggers route close
to southem tip of the area.

Topography
The landform
in the proposed development area is generally undulating with
terrain rising from 160 to 240 m above sea level. Shaped like
a horseshoe, the mainland part of the site enclose a scenic lake
with a number of
islands in the middle. Two of the islan namely Pulau Selimbar
and Pulau Sungai Tekak is of considerable size and may be viably
developed into a resort or tourism attraction while the smaller
one due to its size and possibility of being submerged is best
left as nature reserves.
